9w8s are chill and steady, they don’t overthink things like 4s.

Well, maybe it’s hust me, but I do tend to overthink the meanings of things. Like, “So and so took too long to text me back, did I do something wrong?” or “So and so looked at me funny, is it because I’m ugly?”, etc. I also tend to obsessively overthink regarding my identity. Determining which traits of my personality match with different personas in my head or obsessing about typology or my mental disorder and making sure it accurately describes me. I have a sort of obsession with labels and ordering my thoughts any feelings and categorizing them. Although I’m not obsessive about my external world at all.

Calm down runey, it was a joke after you replied to my comment saying that my charm is impervious to everyone. I thought you 7w6s were lighthearted and humorous lol.

don't let the 3 wing fool you, we probably have the lowest self-esteem so we compensate by trying to make ourselves look more beautiful/desirable/special

Exactly. I have severe Body Dysmorphic Disorder as Ice mebtioned before. It holds me back like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve never had a relationship nor close friendships and can barely hold down a steady job, much less leave the house or go places by myself as I feel too vulnerable. Funny thing about it is that I receive compliments on my appearance all of the time and when I go on dating apps or the rare occasion that I actually go out, I attract people very easily but for some reason I’m not convinced. I can objectively say that I’m not ugly per se. I’d consider myself about a 6.5/10 but I still look at myself and obsessively focus on my flaws and facial asymmetries. I have this delusional belief that once I get Plastic surgery, I’ll become a new me and can finally put my ambitions to good use and that I’ll magically become famous because I’m special. Although I have met 9s with very low self esteem, I can’t imagine them having the same thought processes or being as low functioning as unhealthy 4s.

      I’m so low functioning. I often question if I’m even a 4w3. Perhaps I’m a 4w5.

9s appear to have a more stable self esteem, while 4s, particularly 4w3s appear to more often fluctuate between high and low. Consistently though, I’d say 9s, specifically 9w8s.

      9s think they are unimportant...

Perhaps, but 9w8s are more able to work against those feelings while 4s tend to have more difficulty overcoming those same feelings. My 9w8 brother is actually very confident although he appears to be quite passive. He is an ISTP however.

      I don't know what you're talking about. 4's don't feel unimportant.

If you feel unimportant than you're probably a mistyped 9. The 9's internal message is ''my presence doesn't matter.''

4's don't feel they are unimportant (at least it's nothing common) but some 4's can. some 4s feel like the most important person ever too, it's up to the person.

''4s tend to have difficulty overcoming those same feelings.'' He made it about 4s not his subjective experience.

to feel inherently unimportant as a 4 is really odd to me, especially since they are so famously called the "romantics" or "individualists"

Yep that's cause they don't tend to feel that way but they often feel like they are misunderstood.

I should’ve elaborated. I didn’t mean to say that 4s feel unimportant. I’m a 4w3 and even though at times I feel like the ugliest person in the world, I still have this idea that the world revolves around me.  When I’m feeling at my lowest and most self conscious, I have thus belief that everyone is staring at me. Now sometimes I do want the attention and actually thrive on it, but either way I hold this belief because I have a sense of self importance. What I meant to say is that 4s seem to allow their poor self esteem to drag them down more easily that when 9s suffer from low self esteem. They are more likely to obsessively harp over their flaws and avoid living life, opting to deal with these feelings in private for however long it takes before emerging back into the world.
