Why the fuck do people think Yuri has Fe. Fe is giving and concerned about then needs of others. Yuri is emotional and is concerned about expressing herself. Yuri better fits the descriptions of Fi dom.

Isn't it the Japanese word for dykes?

what is this game and why are these nerds at school telling me to play it

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 19:37:13

It's an intriguing "dating sim" that can best be summed up as "psychological horror". It's basically one of those twist games that goes in a direction you're not expecting, but if I say any more I'll probably spoil something. But I should warn you that it contains themes such as depression, suicide, and similar topics, so if you're considering playing it, you may want to keep that in mind.

    • Posted on: 2018-02-06 13:10:57

      Because horror with shock value, sometimes even cheap jumpscares is liked by everyone.  Also because of the following elements in the game;

      genre shift

      genre deconstruction

      breaking the fourth wall

are overrated, pseudo-intellectial tropes. You can write a bad game, but if you include them readers will think your game is clever and well-written.

    • Posted on: 2018-03-04 09:03:02

      @walpurgisnacht YES about the pseudo-intellectualism.

I loved the game and thought the twists were cleverly done. I admired how the writers knew exactly how to scare people, how they played with your heart strings so well and made you afraid. The timing and the art and the glitching was awesome. You may call it cheap but it scared the crap out of me.

However the whole "breaking the 4th wall" thing... it's not as Deep as people think it is. It was cool but 90% of the fanbase seems to talk like Monika is actually sentient, which makes me cringe a bit. I laughed a bit when Monika herself said she was self-aware. It was so obvious that she wasn't, she was just a character following the script in a uniquely-designed game.

      Another pussy ass game

Another edgy game à la Higurashi, I guess.

any way i look at it, yuri is INFP.  ive examined it for a while and the cognitive functions clearly point to INFP, though she can be interpreted as having Ni or Fe. i believe yuri is selfish with her wants, but still has a deep and caring concern for others.  this points to Fi.  she is close to being both INFJ and INFP, but i believe monika is an INFJ and yuri is an INFP.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 01:28:28

      how is Monika introverted?

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 01:43:57

      yuri chi

seconded. yuri is definitely an INFP. monika could be an INFJ or an ENFJ... but maybe INFJ is more likely?

"I'd say I'm kind of in between, but I think I'm usually a little more extroverted" - Monika

"I'd say I'm kind of in between, but I think I'm usually a little more extroverted"

was that mentioned in her ramblings?

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 19:39:31

      Yeah, it was.

  • Posted on: 2018-01-22 10:10:49

"Yuri prefers poetry that uses metaphorical symbolism and enjoys collecting unusual ornate knives [...]" Taken out of the wkia.  The first part is clearly Ni writing stlye. It can be confused with Fi, as both have rich imaginary worlds, but, taken out of the wikia "She is, however, a generous and giving person" = Fe. And the wikia goes on explaining Fe traits, both healthy and unhealthy (being a yandere).

The definitive clue to figure out her type, however, is her selfharm. Inferior Se, without a doubt, as she does it because she feels pleasure doing so. She doesn't harm herself because of her feelings (That would imply Fi). "...her hobbies becoming more of perverted detailing and self-destruction [...] due to a fetish".

Go to the wikia for more detailed info. There are a lot of traits that make her seem as INFP, but overall, INFJ suits her better.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-22 13:07:48

generous and giving =/= fe, and she doesn't even appear that way in the game. through the entire game she has this glaring "me, me, me" mentality that just screams fi.
      > through her entire arc she focuses only on her feelings and passions.
      > she considers natsuki's poems childish just because they're different from hers.
      > ultimately she didn't care what others thought about her behavior/relationship with mc, it's her feelings that she saw as more important than everything.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-22 20:09:20

Yes, Generous and giving doesn't equal Fe, I was just reasoning wether she was INFJ or INTJ. My explanation was a bit superficial in this point. My bad.

I won't deny it, INFP is a really good option, but I think that her feelings are shown outside rather than inside. She projects her feelings onto the protagonist, she becomes obsessed with him, and projects all her emotion to an outer object (In this case, a human).

If she was an INFP, then, show me some examples of her Ne and Si. Why inferior Te?

I think Ni fits her well, as she likes being symbolic and create vivid images from concepts. I've alredy explained why I think Fe is her auxilliary function and why Se the inferior. I don't have any evidence as for the Ti.

Overall, I think that INFJ fits her more than INFP.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-22 20:14:00

i wasn't arguing for infp either, my bad! i was trying to point towards intj instead. i do agree with your reasoning on ni-se, but i think te-fi fits her much better than fe-ti. while she might not appear sterotypically thinker-like i think it's mostly because of her enneagram.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-22 22:30:12

Oh, jaja. I misjudged you xD. I'm a little confused whether she's INTJ pr INFJ. The only problem I have with INTJ is that I don't see Te as her auxiliary function... But she does have a lot of Fi traits, and it was hard for me to argue in favor of Fe... After I wrote the second post I remembered how she acted when they had to read their poems loud, in order to have some logic consistency, I just thought it was because she's an introvert, but it does match the Fi description... Anyways, seeing how she only says loudly what she thinks and insults Natsuki after being manipulated by Monika, it makes me think that she represses thinking... Or maybe that's the Te I was looking for? I'm starting to see INTJ more and more xD With a little bit of luck, after some moments of reflection maybe I'll have changed my opinion, good job xD

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 01:32:06

She could have inferior Te, Motor.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-23 06:50:35

the reason her te is not very clear is because of monika's intervention. it emphasized her obsessive feeling side so much that in the end, reason stopped mattering.

take virgin out and that's accurate for me

  • Posted on: 2018-01-01 16:59:41

i never paid much attention to her but now that i think of it, intj seems to fit her much better. i see a lot of people voting infp for her, probably because of her yandere tendencies, but keep in mind that after sayori's uh, event, her obsessive feelings were taken up to eleven so she's not normally like this. "normal" yuri is more reserved about her feelings than people give her credit for. even when her lovesickness began slowly creeping to the surface, she was trying to be objective and professional for the sake of other club members (cue the "who cares about that obnoxious brat?" scene). seems like a counterargument to all the infp votes since infp's are known to value their feelings and self expression first and foremost.

also her whole fascination with self harm and this whole sensual(?) thing she has going on heavily points to inferior se. even the way she describes her feelings is always so carnal and gross. she seems super repressed in that department. this makes me much more confident about her type.

so yeah, i'd say intj over infp.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-03 04:06:51

INFPs can have pretty “carnal” and “gross” depictions of their own emotions, at least from my own experience. Also, how would you portray functions for her typing IF in the case of INTJ? Te (even if it may be auxiliary) is not really something I see in Yuri. Then again, I haven’t seen many of the endings, so that may be it.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-03 07:32:19

well yeah, anybody can be anything. but that's not very helpful now is it. while i can somewhat understand people typing her as a fi-dom, i don't understand where do they see her other functions like tertiary si or inferior te. if i had to sum up my thoughts:

ni - her poems are conceptual first and foremost and she's especially obsessive with this one particular idea of self harm which is omnipresent in almost all of her works.
te - we don't see that part of her often but striving to be objective and responsible despite her feelings kinda points to this.
fi - while deeply emotional, she doesn't really express her feelings. not even in her poems. compare her with natsuki (who i still think is an isfp) and you'll see what i mean. she's not willing to share her feelings and passions unless it's with a person close to her (mc).
se - already explained above. her downfall was the impulsive stimulation seeking.

again, i skimmed over yuri's arc so i don't really know that much about her but that's what fits the most imo. if you have argument for the infp votes then i'm curious. for now i'm just getting the impression that a lot of infp's vote for her with the same type because they relate to her/want to have the same type as their waifu.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-04 08:42:38

Okay. Now THAT makes sense. I think I was just hung up on the belief that “thinking types don’t feel emotion”.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-04 08:45:31

That and what you had said earlier about people wanting their “waifu” to be the same type as them.

Oh, the wanderlust and idealized pursuits of the INFP. :)

I'd take Monika for xNFJ if not INFJ herself but not Yuri, the fuzzy ball of personal feelings.

Haven't taken too good of a close look at her character but you spot her vulnerability right away by judging her body language and facial expressions. She doesn't try to hide it as much as an Fe type would like Sayori or Monika. I'd say Yuri is IxFP. Given her love of poems, INFP.

    • Posted on: 2018-01-01 17:27:40

      Monika is ENxJ

I think INTJ fits her well.

Why infp for yuri? seems like a stereotypical infj yandere.

    • Posted on: 2017-11-11 18:09:37

      I was confused as well.

    • Posted on: 2017-12-23 06:52:34

INFJ yandere is Monika. Could be ENFJ thought I'm not sure. She's an NFJ that's that I know for sure.
